Commander Camion: The Terrorist Killer

Camion was the Commander of the Peruvian Marine base in Huanta, Ayacucho in 1984, at the end of the government of Fernando Belaunde Terry. Belaunde Terry, a great and famous architect, very important for his irrigation developments and applications specifically used in Israel. A massive builder of popular new home units in Lima, especially for new, young, married couples, like my own parents in 1981. But at the same time he was the worse and most incompetent politician and president of all the Peruvian History.

After the first attacks of Sendero Luminoso (A terrorist group), he gave all the power and decision to the army, without care about a plan of contingency and actuation. In this case, the marine sent a brutal butcher to make a base in the city Stadium of Huanta. The strategy of Camion, was to create fear in the population, so he started to tortured and rape the poor farmers from the interior of the province, calling them terrorists, with the idea, that Sendero Luminoso, his personal fear of the coward he was, will not have new members increasing their lines.

His method failed, and the population stop believing in the state; Sendero Luminoso grew in members and power and another group the MRTA, started their own fight as well. All the ingredients for a National Civil War was put into the pressure pot. Camion was the head of a criminal group of military that damage the good name of his military institution.

And he killed not one terrorist only hundreds of peasants.

Álvaro Artaza Adrianzén is his name, even if he was declared dead after mysteriously being kidnapped in a restaurant. The fact is that he lives free in the USA.
